A three-day International Conference to discuss methods and way ahead for integrating the socially excluded and marginalised people around the globe into the developmental process, would be held here from February 4.
The programme organised jointly by the University of Calicut, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) and Centre for Information and Guidance India (CIGI) will witness participation by over 300 delegates including some from abroad, P M Mohammed Ashraf, CIGI, Executive Director, told reporters here today.
Social development refers to the processes through which people are helped to realise the fullness of the social, political and economic potentials that already exist within them, he said.
“If we want to ensure inclusive and equitable growth, we need to mend and integrate the grassroots into the progressive development process that re rapidly transforming the world'', he said.
A panel discussion on education for sustainable development, workshop on social enterprise, media seminar and symposium on life skill in Youth development are the programmes scheduled in conference, he said.
