CBSE Board 10th Result 2020: How to calculate CGPA Marks

CBSE provides 10th marks in the form of Cumulative Grade Points Average, CGPA. It is the average of the grades obtained in all the subjects, excluding the 6th sixth additional subject. Students can calculate their CGPA marks by adding the grade points of the five main subjects and dividing it by 5.

CBSE Board 10th Result 2020: How to Calculate Percentage Marks

Students can convert their CGPA into the percentage by multiplying the total CGPA by 9.5.

For example: If a student scored a 9 CGPA marks in CBSE Board 10th Result 2020, then the student needs to multiply it by 9.5;

i.e., 9 x 9.5 = 85.50%

Last Year Overall Pass Percentage Stood at 91.1%

Last year, the result for the CBSE Board Class 10th was announced on May 06, 2019, at 02:15 PM. A total of 17,61,078 students appeared for the class 10th Board exams. The overall pass percentage of the highschool result was stood at 91.1%. 

Last year girls surpass boys with 92.54%

Last Year, girls surpass boys with a pass percentage of 92.45%. While the pass percentage of boys stood at 90.14% in the CBSE Board 10th Result 2019.

The CBSE Board lass 10th Exams 2020 were conducted from February 15 to March 18, 2020. The exams scheduled after March 18 were postponed due to the significant outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. CBSE Board Exam 2020 Postponed due to North East Delhi Riots

Due to North East Delhi Violence, the examinations were hampered and resulted in the postponement of the 10th, 12th exams at the Maujpur-Babarpur areas. Among the 29 subject exams which were to be conducted from July 1, 2020, there were six exams for Class 10 and 12 exams Class 12 for North-East Delhi students which were cancelled due to North-East Delhi riot. CBSE decided not to conduct the class 10 board exams, while class 12 students were to have an option to appear for the pending exams later. 

CBSE Reduces 30% Syllabus for the Academic Year 2020-21

Amid the delay caused in the educational programme due to COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE has reduced 30% syllabus for Classes 9 to 12 for the academic year for 2020-21. For classes 8 and below, schools have the freedom to rationalise the syllabus. This was done to make up for the lost instructional hours by the board.

CBSE has released a few important points regarding the assessment of the mark;

• Students of class 10th, who have completed all their examinations, the results will be declared based on their performance in the examinations
• Students who have appeared in the examinations in more than 3 subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted
• Students who have appeared in the examinations in only 3 subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best two performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted

Overall pass percentage stood at 91.46%

This year, the overall pass percentage of CBSE Board 10th Result 2020 stood at 91.46%. Trivandram district has the highest pass percentage of 99.28%.  

CBSE Board 10th Result 2020: Girls Outshine Boys

Alike last year, this year also girls outshine boys with a pass percentage of 93.31%. While the pass percentage of boys stood at 90.14%. Girls have done better than boys by 3.17%

Overall Pass Percentage Increased by 0.36%

This year a total of 18,85,885 candidates registered for the CBSE 10th Exam 2020. A total of 18,73,015 candidates appeared for the Board exams. Out of which 17,13,121 candidates qualified the class 10 examination successfully. This year there is an increase of 0.36% in the overall pass percentage which stood at 91.46% while last year the overall pass percentage was 91.10%

This year the CBSE has not released the toppers merit list. Board has announced the number of students secured above 90% and 95%;
