Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent.
Age limit (as on January 1, 2019): 20 to 27 years
Language:
(i) The applicant must be able to speak, read and write the Bengali Language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
(ii) For the applicant of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong District, the provisions laid down in the West Bengal Official Language Act, 1961 will be applicable.

Selection Process for WB Police SI Vacancy: Selection will be through preliminary written examination, physical standard & physical efficiency test, final written examination & personality test.
Training And Examination: The candidates selected for appointment to the post of Sub-Inspector (Unarmed Branch) and Sub Inspector (Armed Branch) in West Bengal Police shall be required to undergo a course of training in accordance with the Police Regulation Bengal and/or such rules and regulations as prescribed from time to time. They shall also be required to pass out of Swami Vivekananda State Police Academy or Subsidiary Training Centre as the case may be after having undergone a prescribed course of training.
