The entrance exam for the VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2020 has been cancelled by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).
Official notice regarding the cancellation of the exam has been released on the official website i.e. viteee.vit.ac.in.
The candidates who appeared for the exam can visit the official website and check the notice.
The VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2020 stands cancelled in view of the health and safety threats posed by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic which has surrounded the country.
The official notice reads, “Conducting VITEEE-2020 in various cities with rising infections has become risky and dangerous. To keep the student and parent community safe, VITEEE-2020 stands cancelled.”
The notice further stated, “The admission will be based on +2 or Pre-University marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology”.
According to the notice released, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main scores will also be considered for students who are seeking admission into engineering courses at the undergraduate level.
“Those who scored in JEE (Main) will be given weightage. The forms for providing the marks and JEE (Main) scores have already been provided in the VIT Website ‘www.vit.ac.in,” the notice read.
