Further, the Cabinet Minister said that Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) would promote the students of class 12th on the basis of CBSE marking scheme, this year. The Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla stated in his press brief that It was not possible for the education board to conduct the examinations due to the challenges posed by the coronavirus. About 3,08,000 students have been enrolled in Class XII in government, aided and private schools under the PSEB for 2020-21 academic session.
CBSE marking scheme includes scores of a student in classes 10, 11 final exams, and in class 12 pre-board exams on 30:30:40 formula. That is, 30-30 percent weightage should be given to the final result of 10th and 11th and 40 percent weightage should be given to the pre-board exam of 12th. According to the Punjab education minister the PSEB 12th Result 2021 will be computed on the following basis;
- 30 percent marks, in theory, will be considered from the performance in best three subjects out of the main five subjects in Class 10th
- 30 percent marks will be considered from the scores of students in pre-board, practical examination in Class 11th.
- 40 percent marks will be considered from the score obtained in pre-board examination, practical examination and internal assessment in Class 12th.
The Punjab Board Class 12th Results 2021 is expected to be declared by July 31. If any student unsatisfied with the marks will be given an opportunity to sit in the physical examination.
