The admit card for the NEET, JEE Exams 2020 has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Agency has released the admit card online on its official website i.e. ntaneet.nic.in & jeemain.nta.nic.in. Meanwhile, the demand for the postponement of the entrance exam has been increased. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has completed preparations for the safe and successful conduct of both exams.
In JEE and NEET examinations, only 100 students have to reach the examination center in a 40-minute slot to avoid COVID-19 community transmission and to follow the social distance rule. According to the NTA Director-General Vineet Joshi, preparations for both exams have been completed. In JEE, 85 percent of students have downloaded admit cards. Special SOPs have been prepared for JEE Main 2020 computer-based examination and NEET UG 2020 paper-pen based examination.
A total of 8.58 lakh students have applied for the Joint Entrance Exam (Main) 2020. While 15.97 lakh students have applied for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2020.
NEET - JEE Exam 2020: Controversy Overview
Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Opposition parties, Bollywood celebrities, and many social media influencers have come out in support of students seeking to postpone the exam. However, many students clearly said that they do not want any delay in the NEET-JEE examination and are ready to take the exam. Because these entrance examinations have already been delayed due to coronavirus epidemic and further postponement means more stress on the students.
Meanwhile, the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has also demanded the postponement of the JEE Main and NEET UG exam 2020. Greta Thunberg claimed that it is ‘unfair’ that students in India are being asked to appear for national-level examinations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the JEE Main January examination, the authorities have assigned 570 examination centers while this time there are 660 exam centers. At the same time, instead of 2546 centers for NEET, there are now 3843 examination centers. Earlier JEE had a total of eight shifts, this time there are 12 shifts. Apart from this, about 1.32 lakh students were allowed to sit in a single shift which is now only 85 thousand.
