About 15 lakhs 76 thousand students have registered this time, whereas NEET 2018 has 13 lakh candidates.
Dr SP Singh, Director of Neutral Expert and New Light Coaching, points out that competition has increased due to the increase in the number of examiners. According to Dr Singh, this time the Supreme Court has allowed more than 25 years old to sit in the examination. This is the reason that the tremendous increase in the number of examiners is being seen.
Another major reason is that many states have decided to enrol themselves as qualified candidates in AYUSH course only. In the previous year, there were separate entrance examinations for the AYUSH course in the states. Dr Singh added that due to errors in the registration and dummy candidates, there may be some reduction in the number of students.
