"Of all the strategies, my strongest one was to attempt mock tests", Chirag said. He added that this was his first attempt at CAT and he took around 60 mock tests from institutes such as IMS and TIME. He further informed that one month prior to the exam, he attempted mock tests for the second slot only, as his B-school entrance was in second slot.
Gupta stated that he started preparing for CAT exam 2021 from March 2021 itself and relied on self-study, to enhance which, he studied market-available books and notes besides appearing for mock tests. Furthermore, Chirag has suggested the CAT aspirants not to divide their preparation with too many resources and take as many mock tests as possible.
Chirag termed the CAT 2021 Question paper to be moderately difficult and stated that it fell in line with the prescribed pattern of CAT. Adding to this, the topper also said that the pandemic did not take any toll on his exam preparations. He aspires to enroll into one of the top three Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), namely, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore or IIM Calcutta, as these three IIMs offer lucrative placements every year. Post this, he aims to build his career in consultancy.
