Giving to relief to aspiring medical students, the Medical Council of India has decided to remove age restriction for candidates appearing for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017.
“The oversight committee felt such limitations will reduce the number of doctors in the country. The Union Health Ministry agreed and suggested recommendation to us. We have passed it,” said MCI vice-president Dr CV Bhirmanandham.
As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 as amended in 2016 and the Dentists Act-1948 as amended in 2016, NEET(UG)-2017 will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament e.g. AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
Earlier, it was decided that candidates appearing for NEET 2017 should be below 25 years old and they can attempt only three times.
The NEET (UG)-2017 will be conducted on May 7, 2017.

Log on to www.cbseneet.nic.in.
Aadhar number is required to fill up the online application for the candidates of all states except J&K, Assam and Meghalaya.
A new system of making request through login ID of individual candidate has also been developed.
