In a bid to maintain uniformity, the University Grant Commission (UGC) has instructed univeristies to include students' photos and Aadhaar numbers in certificates and marksheets.
"Include mechanisms like the students' photographs and unique ID or Aadhaar numbers in certificates of students. Marksheets and certificates with security features would help in verification and prevent duplication," said UGC Secretary J S Sandhu.
The instruction comes after UGC released a list of fake universities operating in India.
