The Assam state government has announced the evaluation criteria for Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams 2021 today, July 01. As per the official updates, the Assam Board Matric students will be evaluated based on their performance in Class 9 and Class 10. The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) will opt the matric evaluation formula of 40% from Class 9, 40% from Class 10 and 20 marks from school.
However, if there is non-availability of Class 10 marks, 70% will be considered from Class 9. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will prepare the class 12 board results on the basis of 50% marks from ‘best of 3’ from HSLC and 40% from internal evaluation in non-practical subjects of Arts, Science and Commerce streams.
The Assam Board HSLC Matric and HS board examinations has been cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation caused by second wave of novel coronavirus. Around seven lakh students have registered for Assam Board Class 10 and Class 12 Exams 2021 this year. Earlier the state government formed two committees to recommend techniques for evaluating board students in Class 10 and 12.
The Assam Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, said that the evaluation formula for SEBA and AHSEC’s HSLC-HSSLC will be officially announced in the evening today via official notification. The evaluation criteria will also be published by the Assam Board on its official website - sebaonline.org and ahsec.nic.in. The State Government will determine whether or not to publish the merit list. Additionally, the committee included provisions for students who may be dissatisfied with their outcomes.
