The exam is scheduled to be held on May 5, 2019 at 2pm.

To hold NEET 2019, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has added four additional cities from the State, following the outrage over the allocation of exam centres outside Tamil Nadu for NEET 2018.

Where there were only 10 cities which holds the exam every year, in NEET 2019 the NTA has added four more cities.

The cities added are Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Karur and Nagercoil to accommodate more students.

Last year i.e. NEET 2018, over 1.14 lakh students gave a common medical entrance test from Tamil Nadu as the CBSE, which was conducting the exam till last year allocated the exam centre in faraway places including Kerala, Rajasthan and Haryana.

So as to increase the number of students this year, the number of cities in Tamil Nadu has been increased by the NTA.

The students have been advised by the NTA to select a city in their residential state.

In the information bulletin the NTA cleared that “the candidates will be allocated centre in another centre, in case the number of candidates opting for a city is less than a certain minimum.

The NTA also holds a right to not allot any centre in that city”.
