Amid rapid upsurge in COVID cases across the country, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has postponed the NTSE Stage 2 Exam 2021. NCERT conducts the stage 2 examination of the National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) at national level. The examination was scheduled to be held on June 13, 2021.
As per the official updates, the NCERT will announce the new dates for the NTSE Stage 2 Exam 2021 soon after the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation normalizes. Last year also NCERT postponed the second stage exam for National Talent Search 2020 and conducted it on February 14, 2021. A total of 7,586 students appeared for the exam.
The NTSE Stage 1 Exam was condcuted on December 12 and 13, 2020 for most of the states and UTs. While some of the states and UTs conducted it on separate dates. The candidates recommended on the basis of the merit in the written examination conducted by the States/UTs will have to appear for the NTSE Stage 2 Exam.
About NTSE Examination
The state-level examination may have two parts: Part-I Mental Ability Test (MAT) and PartII Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) for nominating the required number of candidates for the second level test to be conducted by the NCERT.
NTSE Syllabus
There is no prescribed syllabus for the NTS examination. However, the standard of items shall be conforming to the level of Classes IX and X. A separate booklet called ‘Learn about the Test’ containing sample items for both the Tests- MAT and SAT is available in print as well as on the NCERT website www.ncert.nic.in.
