The Indian Institute of technology has collaborated with the Indian Space Research Organization, ISRO to celebrate World Space Week 2021. The collaboration has been done emphasizing the launch of an online lecture series within the World Space Week 2021. The IIT Roorkee is observing this week from the last 4 years with an aim to felicitate the endless contribution of those who are working towards the field of technology, science and space.
The World Space Week 2021 is being celebrated from 4th October to 10th October. This time, the collaborators are conducting the sessions on the theme ‘Women in Space.’ From 6th October to 9th October 2021, the institute will conduct a series of guest lectures. The students will be provided strategic insights and information by eminent professors. The students will be taught about space technology, aerospace systems, and the functioning of the Indian space programme. The Director of IIT Roorkee, Ajit Chaturvedi has inaugurated the event on 4th October.

“I am happy that the celebration of World Space Week has now become an annual event at IIT Roorkee. I am sure it will help our Space Technology Cell in fostering collaboration between IIT Roorkee and ISRO," said Prof Ajit Chaturvedi. The lecture series is divided into different sessions- the first session is going to be based on ‘Indian Space Programme- A success story,’ the second session is going to be held on the topic of ‘Quality and Reliability of Aerospace System,’ and the third session would be on ‘Space Science Mission.’
