After receiving approval from National Skill Development Council (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) is all set to skill-oriented short-term courses under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
"FTII, to begin with, will conduct these courses in Pune, Guwahati, Jaipur and Visakhapatnam. Gradually, the courses will be conducted at more locations, read a press release from FTII.
According to reports, the government is mulling corporatisation of three important institutes — the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute and the Delhi Public Library.
Officials in the PMO told The Indian Express that the “corporatisation” of the three listed bodies could translate into them becoming independent companies or a special purpose vehicle (SPV) could possibly be formed shortly to take over their functioning.
