The board has agreed to extend the passing criteria for CBSE Class 10 Board Examination 2019 as well as per the confirmation received.
Students in Class 10 would be requiring an aggregate score of 33% overall as per the passing criteria.
That would include internal marks as well as external marks.
Henceforth according to a report of Times of India the board is expected to make this policy for all upcoming class 10 Board Examinations.
Earlier this year the CBSE made an announcement that the students don’t have to pass in the theory and practical separately.
To be declared successful the students require to score an aggregate of 33% in theory-practical combined as a special consideration only for the 2018 board exam.
In February 2018, Anita Karwal, the board chairman announced that its a “one time measure” which is being taken due to the unique situation the Class 10 students come from.
“While the current batch of Class 10 was in class 9 in 2017, they are coming from a different assessment background”.
In its last meeting the exam committee of the board resolved to take this one-time measure.
CBSE is expected to make it a policy decision for Class 10 exams according to reliable sources. This will make all subsequent exams have the same passing criteria.
