Earlier in 2018 also the board examinations were conducted in February itself. Now when the assembly elections are to be held in February-March, for which polling stations will be set up in schools, BLOs of teachers will be appointed along with administrative and police machinery will also be deployed in the elections. In such a situation, it is not possible to conduct board examinations during the election period.

According to media reports, there has been an in-principle agreement to conduct the board exams only after the elections, while the pre-board exams will be conducted in the first week of January. However, there is a constant discussion on centre fixation for the high school and intermediate examinations of UP Board 2022.
