Hindi is the first spoken language in India and second spoken language in the world after Mandarin Chinese.
On September 14, 1949 – the day on which Constituent Assembly of India declared Hindi as the official language of the Republic of India on September 14, 1949 - several initiatives are being taken for spreading Hindi reading and writing culture across the globe.
If reports are to be believed then a Joint Declaration of Intent has been signed with Germany to teach Indian languages under which Hindi will be taught in schools in Germany. ICCR provides scholarships to the foreign students for studying Hindi language and literature.
