More and more students are now pursuing LAW because there is a scarcity of lawyers in our country, increasing the possibility of getting jobs. According to a Law Commission recommendation 1987, India needs 50 judges per million population. 430 posts of judges and additional judges are still lying vacant in high courts.
Scope
A student can pursue three years’ Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) course or five years’ integrated BA LLB course. A plethora of opportunities waiting for a law graduate.
Students should keep in mind that only academic excellence does not count for success in this profession. Professional competency along with good academic record is the main benchmark of success.
Eligibility criteria
The three-year LLB course is divided into six semesters in most of the law universities. The admission to the same is based on entrance exams like CLAT, LAWCET.

Entrance Tests
CLAT or Common Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law Universities for admissions to LLB courses.
LSAT or Law School Admission Test is a globalized entrance test and many Indian universities consider its score for LLB admission.
AILET or All India Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law University, Delhi.
LAWCET or Law Common Entrance Test is conducted by colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh for admission to LLB programme.
